Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal bowed out of the French Open Super Series after suffering a straight games defeat against Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon in the women's singles quarterfinals.

The top-seeded Indian was beaten 9-21, 15-21 by Intanon in a contest that lasted 40 minutes and thereby ended India's campaign at the tournament.

The defeat saw Saina, who dropped to second in the latest world rankings, made her thrid successive early exit after being eliminated in initial rounds of Japan Open and Denmark Open.
