Sanjeev Mohanty becomes new CEO of Jabong

Sanjeev Mohanty has taken over the reins of India's leading online fashion retailer Jabong as the new CEO and Managing Director.

Mohanty assumed responsibilities on December7, when he was officially inducted and introduced to all leadership members.

The new CEO also addressed the employees at a town hall gathering on December 8.

"I am deeply honoured and excited to join the most fashionable e-commerce brand in the market. I am looking forward to working closely with very talented teams in creating the most profitable fashion destination in India," said Mohanty in his addresses to Jabong employees at the town hall in Gurgaon.

"My endeavor would be to ensure retailing of top fashion brands and invoking more loyal consumers for Jabong, by providing them a seamless and world-class shopping experience. Leading a digital company is definitely going to be a new experience for me and I am looking forward to apply my learning to support further growth," he added.

With 20 years of leadership experience, Mohanty comes with a wealth of knowledge and deep domain expertise in the fashion and retail industry.

Mohanty who holds a Master's degree in Apparel Marketing and Merchandising, Fashion and Retail Marketing from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has also worked with fashion brands such as Benetton India, Madura Garments, SF Jeans and Levi Strauss.

This festive season has been particularly rewarding for Jabong with tremendous response to its Diwali Super Style Fest, Durga Puja celebrations, and tie-ups with a host of youth-centric events such as NBA JAM and Jabong 5x5 football Turfwar.

Top international brands and a host of offers for the steadfast consumers indicate Jabong as the favourite online fashion brand in India.

A Nielsen study for a leading business media that surveyed 7,200 consumers recently rated Jabong as the leading fashion retailer among India's most trusted e-commerce brands in 2015.
