Suspended Janata Dal (United) MLA Sarfraz Alam, who allegedly misbehaved with a woman on a train, on Saturday admitted to have travelled by Rajdhani Express, the Railway Police said.
Earlier, Alam had denied the charge and said that he was not on that train.
Railway Superintendent of Police, P.N. Mishra, said that Alam was interrogated for four hours during which he admitted to have travelled by the Rajdhani Express without a ticket.
He also said that the ticket examiner of the train was aware of the fact that Alam was travelling without ticket.
"The accused MLA Sarfraz Alam was interrogated at the Patna Railway Police Station today. He co-operated the police during his four hour questioning. He has accepted to have travelled by Rajdhani Express on 17-1-2016 from Katihar to Patna," Mishra told reporters here.
"He couldn't get the ticket from Katihar, so he boarded the train without a ticket. The TTE gave him a berth in A-4 compartment of the train. He asked TTE for a ticket but the TTE replied that we will discuss about ticket after Barauni station," he added.

He further said the suspended JD (U) MLA denied charges of misbehaving with a woman.
Meanwhile, Alam maintained his stance and denied charges.
"Nothing happened in the train," said Alam after interrogation.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had earlier today suspended Alam from the party.
An FIR was registered on Monday against Alam for harassing a couple onboard Rajdhani train. He has also been charged with misbehaving with the woman passenger.
"I did not even travel by that train. There is politics behind this to tarnish my image. I will initiate legal action," Alam had earlier said.
