SC directs UP to conclude all female foeticide trials within three months

The Supreme Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh Government and its courts to conclude all trials of cases for offence of sex determination and female foeticide within three months.

The cases would include only those where either the Allahabad High Court or the apex court have not stayed the trial.

A bench comprising Justices Dipak Misra and Prafulla C Pant also asked the registrar general of the Allahabad High Court to issue a circular to trial courts in UP directing the same.
