Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has come out in support of manager Louis van Gaal, who was criticised for his side's boring and defensive style of play.
Earlier, former United player Paul Scholes described the current system as negative and called on the Old Trafford club to play more swiftly.
However, German midfielder Schweinsteiger believes that the Dutchman has his philosophy to each game. He insisted that they were trying to improve in every game but added that it becomes tough when their opponents adopt a defensive approach, the Mirror reported.
Schweinsteiger, who joined from Bayern Munich in the summer on a three-year deal, scored United's equaliser in the 1-1 draw against table leaders Leicester last week.
