Security officials received severe injuries during a combing operation launched against the Maoists in Jharkhand.
In two separate incidents, security officials were injured during a combing action on Thursday.
During search operation in Palamu district, three officers were injured after an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) blasted accidentally.
The Superintendent of police in Palamu, YS Ramesh, said that the officers were undergoing treatment and were out of danger.
"A team led by Superintendent of Police of Chhatra area was doing a combing operation against the Maoists. They discovered some IED, which unfortunately exploded in front of them. The Superintendent of Police and two other officers got injured due to it. It seems that they are currently out of danger", said Ramesh.
In another incident, a team of security officials accidently fired on their own team members in Maoist hotbed of Latehar area.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police in Latehar, Michael Raj, two security officials received severe injuries.
"During an operation against Maoists, a team which was searching a dense forest region accidently fired on their own team members. Two officers have been injured in the accident", said Raj.
