Shoaib Akhtar blasted for mocking '150 year old' Pak squad on Indian comedy show

Former Pakistani fast bowling great Shoaib Akhtar has reportedly been blasted on Twitter for mocking the national squad in a popular Indian comedy television show.

Akhtar appeared with Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh on a comedy show in India called 'Comedy Nights with Kapil', which is popular in both India and Pakistan.

Among other things, Akhtar joked about Pakistani cricket team captains being old, saying that if they add up Misbah-ul Haq's, Younis Khan's and Shahid Afridi's ages the team would itself be 150 years old, The Dawn reported.

Although Akhtar's jokes might have been lighthearted and expressly for the purposes of the comedy show, but combined with his recent criticism of the Pakistan team's performance it has led to many questioning his loyalty.

Fans and celebrities didn't find his humour funny, and they took to Twitter to voice their opinion. Pakistani singer tweeted that he has known Akhtar for a long time, and added that he is absolutely disappointed by what he did on a cheap comedy show in India.

Pakistani short story writer Nadeem F. Paracha tweeted that they found Akhtar where he truly belongs: 'Comedy Nights With Kapil', insisting that the 'punter' should stay there.

Some even wondered if Akhtar was the same man who played for Pakistan once, with one user named Saif Ur Rehman tweeting that he just saw Comedy Nights With Kapil starring Akhtar and Singh, claiming that what is the former paceman up to, adding that he was too part of the team once.
