A shoe designer has said that Kate Middleton doesn't need to stop wearing heels while she's pregnant.

Nicholas Kirkwood, who made headlines after criticising the Duchess of Cambridge's preference for high street shoes, told British magazine Grazia that Catherine is used to wearing heels regularly and there's no reason why she should stop once pregnant, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Catherine has worn heels at every official engagement since announcing her pregnancy, which according to Kirkwood is fine to do.

Kate is due to welcome her first child with husband Prince William into the world next month.
