Shuttler Saina pledges Rs. 2 lakh for Chennai flood victims

Extending a helping hand to the Chennai flood victims, ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal on Friday pledged to donate Rs two lakh to support relief efforts in the city.

On the same day, the world number two was also nominated for the Woman Player of the Year Award of the Badminton World

Federation following a consistent season.

The heaviest rainfall in more than a century has wreaked havoc in the state capital of Tamil Nadu, which crippled the normal life and drove thousands of people out of their inundated homes.
