Australian singer Sia, who doesn't like to be famous, has said that fame f***ks with her sanity.
The 'Chandelier' hitmaker, who sports her signature blond wig in an effort to maintain some sense of anonymity, revealed in an interview that for her, writing and recording the songs were fine, but she did not like the idea of promoting them, E! Online reported.
The 39-year-old singer told Kristen Wiig that she stops feeling authentic because she tries to find ways to say the same thing differently and after a while, one can't as it becomes bad for her self-esteem.
Talking about her album '1000 Forms of Fear', Sia asserted that her original plan was to give it away but it had to come out on a major label, and they were not going to want to give it away for free but she had no plans to promote it or tour it.
The singer-songwriter added that she hid her face not because she thought she was ugly but she was trying to have some control over her image and she was allowed to maintain some modicum of privacy.
