South Korean director Kim Ki-duk sued for alleged assault on 2013 movie set

South Korean filmmaker Kim Ki-duk has been sued for allegedly assaulting an actress during the production of his controversial 2013 incest drama 'Moebius.'

According to Hollywood Reporter, local media reported that a South Korean actress filed a complaint accusing the Venice Golden Lion-winning filmmaker of being violent on set.

The actress, whose identity has been withheld, also alleged that Kim forced her to take part in a violent sex scene that was not initially included in the script.

According to reports, the actress subsequently quit the flick and her lead role of the distressed mother was taken up by Lee Eun-woo.

Prosecutors at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office are looking into the case, reported Yonhap News Agency.

Kim has been widely acclaimed for such films as 'Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. and Spring' and 'Pieta.' 'Moebius,' which was screened out of the competition at the 70th Venice Film Festival, was initially banned in South Korea, but eventually received a limited release after undergoing cuts.
