A Spanish judge has ordered the Barcelona Football Club to stand trial over allegations that it tried to deceive the tax authorities while signing of star forward Neymar.
According to the club, Brazilian international Neymar was bought from Team Santos for a reported sum of 57 million Euros.
Prosecutors, however, argued that the Catalan giants knew the deal was higher and paid closer to 83 million Euros, and therefore, more tax should have been paid, the BBC reported.
Barcelona's incumbent and former presidents have been given ten days to file papers in their defence before the court.
The news would act as a dampner on Barcelona FC, which reached their first Champions League final since 2011 after trouncing Bayern Munich 5-3 on aggregate on Tuesday, and need only one
more win to bag the Spanish League title.
