Sri Lanka's scheduled tour of Zimbabwe has reportedly come under doubt after the southern African country wanted a postponement of the series starting in October without giving any specific explanation.
According to Sport24, reports however, stated that the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU), which hosted India in July and are currently playing Pakistan at home, do not have the budget to host a third country in the space of four months.
Stating that they received an email from the ZCU seeking a postponement of the tour, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) secretary Nishantha Ranatunga said that the reason given was 'unavoidable circumstances', adding that they are awaiting further clarification on the matter.
Sri Lanka were due to tour Zimbabwe from October 6-November 4 to play two Tests, three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches, the report added.
