The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday reminded its alliance partner the Shiv Sena of its dismal show in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and said that one must not indulge in theatrics for petty political gains.

BJP leader Shaina NC, who was commenting on Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray's remark daring the saffron party to break the alliance for the forthcoming polls in Mumbai, said that everybody is well aware of the assembly result and added that people playing drama should be aware of the future.

"It is important to understand that our is a party, has a cadre and a cadre that is loyal to the vision plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and for those who want to play a drama or theatrics, I would only want to say, remember the past and only be aware of the future," she said.

Addressing his party workers at the Dussehra rally at Mumbai's Shivaji Park last evening, Thackeray yesterday said that the BJP's last performance during the assembly polls was just an aberration, adding that the Sena would triumph the BMC and other civic polls.

"Feel free to break the alliance with us then we will show you what a surgical strike is," said Thackeray.

"If you have the guts, attack me directly. A tiger's son is sitting in front of you," he added while daring the BJP to break the alliance.
