High cut offs for different Delhi University courses have left students and their parents shocked as the rat race for admission process is picking up speed.

The cut off list for Delhi University has touched 100 per cent this year similar to last year's trend, where many colleges had a very high cut offs percentages leading to extensive competition for limited number of seats.

Razi Burn, an applicant applying for Economic Honours in Delhi University, said "Every year, the competition is becoming tough because the boards are becoming lenient and giving more marks to the students. This affects the percentage score which is increasing,"

"It is very taxing for the children, because there are many applicants and the number of seats is less in different colleges. Down the years, the number of colleges which were there in our time still exist as it is, whereas the number of applicants keep on increasing. They should increase the seats," said Suman Gupta, a parent accompanying her daughter.

"Competition in DU has always been tough. There are students who come from outside they have a quota, and then, there are so many other different quotas. So, the competition for students from Delhi is very tough," Gupta added.

Troubled parents are checking with different colleges about the admission procedures and some of them are being accompanied by their wards.
