Luis Suarez scored a close-range goal on Wednesday as Barcelona claimed a 2-1 pre-season win over Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy in front of a record packed crowd in California.
The match also saw Suarez lined up against his former Liverpool team mate Steven Gerrard and exchanged shirts at the break, the BBC reported.
Suarez had put the Catalan giants ahead in the 45th minute before Sergi Roberto doubled the lead shortly after the break.
Although MLS champions Galaxy tried to pull one back through a Tommy Meyer header in injury time, Barcelona successfully fended off their opponents' late surge.
Barca will next face Manchester United in Santa Clara on Saturday before squaring-off against Chelsea in Washington on July 28.
