External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has arrived in Afghanistan, where she is expected to enhance the ties between the two countries and review key projects that have been implemented in that nation by India.
Swaraj is expected to hold talks with the Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on crucial bilateral and regional issues, as well as on defence and security assistance from India. She is also expected to hold a meeting with the presidential candidates in Kabul and inaugurate the new Indian embassy.
With her visit to Afghanistan, Swaraj has now visited four of the eight countries in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) since taking over the External Affairs portfolio.
