Sushma Swaraj to visit Afghanistan today

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is scheduled to visit Afghanistan today to further enhance the ties and review key projects that have being implemented by India in the trouble-torn country.

In her first visit to the country as External Affairs Minister, Swaraj is expected to hold talks with the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai on crucial bilateral and regional issues, which may include enhancing the defence and security assistance from India.

Sushma Swaraj is also expected to hold a meeting with the presidential candidates in Kabul and inaugurate the new Indian embassy.
