Sylvester Stallone 'incredibly flattered' but would not consider Trump's job offer

Sylvester Stallone, who was recently considered by Donald Trump for chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, has revealed that he would turn down a position in the President-Elect's administration.

"I am incredibly flattered to have been suggested to be involved with the National Endowment of the Arts," Stallone said in a statement to People magazine.

"However I believe I could be more effective by bringing national attention to returning military personnel in an effort to find gainful employment, suitable housing and financial assistance these heroes respectfully deserve," he quipped.

Presumably, the statement suggests that there's room for the 70-year-old actor if he might be willing to work with Trump's administration in a suitable position.

However, in an interview with Variety in January, the 'Rambo' actor voiced concerns about the 70-year-old Republican's leadership skills.

"I love Donald Trump," he said, adding, "He's a great Dickensian character. You know what I mean? There are certain people like Arnold, Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life. But I don't know how that translates [laughs] to running the world."

The National Endowment of the Arts is a federal agency that provides grants to cultural organizations.
