New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor has expressed his desire to play 100 Tests before bidding adieu to international cricket.
The 34-year-old, however, added that in order to keep himself going in the longest format of the game, he needs to keep his body in shape.
"I wouldn't mind playing 100 tests. But that is still a long way away and I've got to get these hammies and calves and rest of the body in some decent shape to hopefully get there," Stuff.co.nz quoted Taylor, as saying.
Reflecting on his retirement plans, the right-hand batsman said that his opinion on the matter keeps varying. Sometimes you think it's time to call it a day and some days you feel like you can still play for 2-3 more years, he continued.
"Some days you've got to be honest and you think you're close to retiring, and some days you feel like you could still play for 2-3 years at international level," Taylor said.
Talking about New Zealand's upcoming tour to the United Arab Emirates, where they will face Pakistan, Taylor stated that he is hopeful of the team's success.
New Zealand are slated to play a three-match T20I series and three ODIs against Pakistan from October 31 to November 11.
