Tenga Valley Kendriya Vidyalaya student Pratyush Kumar Singh added an education feather to the Arunachal crown by topping in Class-XII CBSE Board Examination 2013, by securing 98 percent in humanities.

"I worked with full concentration and dedication for five to six hours, as I believed in quality," an elated Pratyush said over telephone.

"I want to pursue B.A. (Hons) from Delhi University before writing the UPSC examination as I want to be an IAS officer, said Pratyush, who was conferred Dera Natung Award for securing CGPA 10 in class-X.

To a question, he said: "My country has suffered a lot and I intend to contribute by taking active role in the administration that holds the key to many ills of the nation."

Pratyush, who secured 98 percent marks (Eng-95, Hindi-98, Geography-100, History-99, Econommics-98=490/500), is the son of 14 BRTF (GREEF) junior engineer Rakesh Pratap Singh and Saroj Singh.

Overwhelmed by the result, Rakesh said he would support his son in pursuing higher education as he had never taken tuitions.

"I'm confident he would excel in life," he said.

Pratyush was among 33 students (22 in Humanities and 11 in Science).

School principal T.R. Thakan described Pratyush was like a jewel that glows in deep sea.

"Pratyush had won over his teachers by his inquisitiveness for studies and perseverance. He performed excellently and to our expectation, inking a record at all India level," he said.

Kendriya Vidyalaya recorded 100 percent pass this year with five humanities students securing over 90 percent marks and a science student getting 95.6 percent marks, he informed.

The school might be located in the remote eastern frontier state of India but through his hard work he proved nothing was impossible if pursued with commitment. I am sure he would serve as an inspiration for the students of entire Arunachal to achieve higher ladder in life, a happy Thakan commented.
