Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has said that all national news channels must follow the law when it comes to covering anti-terrorist operations.
"Coverage of Anti-Terrorist operations by TV channels must be as per the Cable TV Act'95 & advisories issued by I&B Ministry;will be ensured," Rathore tweeted.
The Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 19951 is an act to regulate the operation of cable television networks in the country and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Rathore's statement comes in backdrop of the extensive coverage of the attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base by the media.
