While the whole world is celebrating the news that Prince Harry is set to wed 'Suits' actress Meghan Markle next spring, actor Matt Smith has something different to say about Markle's transition into the royalty.
According to Contactmusic.com, the 'Crown' actor feels that it would be really difficult for her to adjust to her new life as a member of the royal family.
While giving an interview at a screening, Smith said, "It's such a transition in her life, and it's such a huge thing to take on. Life as she knows it is gone. But hey, she's marrying the prince of Britain - how exciting for her."
Smith, who portrays Prince Philip in Netflix series 'The Crown', struggles with the same transition Markle is about to confront and later has difficulty adjusting to life in the shadow of his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, played by Claire Foy.
Meanwhile, Foy, who portrays Queen Elizabeth on the Netflix series, has a more positive take on the subject.
"You realize the fact that Elizabeth forbade her sister from marrying a divorced man; it goes to show how time has changed and how they've had to evolve. And they really have. This would not have been conceivable, this would not have happened 50 years ago," explained Foy.
It should be noted that the second season of 'The Crown' is set to debut this December on the streaming service.
Season one cast-members Smith (Prince Philip), Vanessa Kirby (Princess Margaret), Victoria Hamilton (Queen Mother) and Jeremy Northam (Antony Eden) will return.
