The prison shown in the 1995 movie 'The Shawshank Redemption' has become a tourist attraction.
The former Ohio State Reformatory, which is located in Mansfield, Ohio, and had been location for filming most of the Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins starter film, was an actual prison until 1990, Metro.co.uk reported.
Though the building was planned to be knocked down to make way for a car park, it is now open to visitors, who can use the location for murder mystery parties, Halloween events and ghost hunts, as well as take the 13-stop 'Shawshank' tour.
Recently, the tour had taken a special significance in the town to mark the film's 20th anniversary, and had a 1940's themed cocktail party and re-enactment of moments from the film, which despite flopping at the box office is now regarded as one of the best movies.
