Thomas Gibson, one of the original cast members of 'Criminal Minds', has been sacked by the producers ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios.

This came after he hit a writer.

However, the details on how Gibson's character Special Agent Aaron Hotchner will be written out of the show has not been revealed yet, reports E!Online.

The 54-year-old actor, who previously starred on the sitcom 'Dharma and Greg', had been on the 'Criminal Minds' since its first season in 2005.

The show is slated to return for its twelfth season on September 28.
