The Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs staged a protest outside the Parliament on Monday demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give a clarification over Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah's alleged links with the Sahara Group.
Raising slogans, the TMC lawmakers were seen holding a red book with Sahara inscribed on it.
"In a raid by CBI, from Sahara's office a red diary was recovered in which Amit Shah's name is mentioned directly," TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay told the media here.
"We have given a notice for suspension of the Question Hour. We want discussion over this issue. It is known to us in the red diary Mr. Amit Shah's name is there," he added while demanding the Prime Minister to give an explanation on the issue.
The TMC's outcry against the BJP chief follows his visit to Kolkata on Sunday where he lashed out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
