Stepping up efforts against its war on drugs, the Punjab government has announced a campaign to organise village level sports tournaments across the state.
Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa said these tournaments will help the youth divert their energy towards a positive act as well as promote sportsmanship among them.
Bajwa informed that a dope test will be made mandatory to ensure fair play at these tournaments.
The minister was addressing a gathering at a sports tournament in Jalandhar, to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
