Tom Cruise has made a shocking revelation by admitting that his former wife Katie Holmes dumped him to save their daughter, Suri, from Scientology.

The 'Top Gun' star has admitted in a court deposition that Holmes dumped him to spare their now 7-year-old daughter, Suri, from the sect, the New Daily News reported.

Cruise's deposition was sparked by his 50 million dollars lawsuit accusing Life and Style and In Touch magazines of defaming him in 2012 cover stories, which claimed that he had "abandoned" his daughter.

He revealed in the court documents that he could only see his daughter 10 times between the middle of June until Thanksgiving, but he said he would often call his daughter and tell her stories over the phone.

Cruise defended himself amidst the accusations of being a bad parent, by saying that one has to work it out.

When asked if Scientology played a role in breaking up his five-year marriage in the deposition, Cruise said that he finds that question offensive and like any relationship, there are many different levels to it.
