Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic has defended getting a lap dance at schoolies week, saying he was simply enjoying himself.

According to News.com.au, Tomic, 21, said he couldn't understand the fuss over the photos, which showed two young girls gyrating over his naked torso in a Gold Coast nightclub.

The tennis bad boy said that he was celebrating his 21st birthday and who would not want to celebrate that.

Talented Tomic has always raised eyebrows off court with his wild antics, the report said.

He has previously racking up several fines for driving offences including failing to stop for police, the report added.

He will base himself in Melbourne to train leading up to the Australian Open, the report further said.
