United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that it is totally up to Attorney General William Barr whether and when to release the special counsel Robert Mueller's report on links between the Russian government and Trump's campaign.
"That'll be totally up to the new attorney general, he's a tremendous man, a tremendous person who really respects this country and respects the Justice Department so that'll be totally up to him," CBS quoted Trump as saying.
When asked whether Barr will release the full report on Muller, Trump said, "that'll be totally up to the attorney general."
As attorney general, Barr recently participated in Mueller's probe, which is investigating links between the Russian government and Trump's campaign. It is also probing whether the US President repeatedly tried to obstruct justice by interfering in the investigation.
Acting Attorney General Matthew G. Whitaker, last month, revealed that special counsel Robert Muller's investigation is close to completion.
Last month, Roger Stone had pleaded not guilty to the charges alleged by Mueller that Stone gave false statements to congressional investigators regarding the Wikileaks' publication on stolen emails which were meant to dent Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in 2016.
According to the reports, Mueller is nearly done is preparing to announce the report probably in next week.
