In a massive relief for stranded passengers, train services have been resumed from the Chennai Central station here and the schedules are expected to return to normal from tomorrow.
The station, which had halted its services due to torrential rains and massive waterlogging, still looked empty as only few trains are scheduled for today.
The first train of the day,'Chennai Central - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman' express left Chennai Central at 5:15 am.
Train No.12007 'Chennai Central - Mysore Shatabdi' express also left as scheduled.
The following regular train services will be operated from Chennai Central railway station from today onwards.
1. Train No.16031 Chennai Central - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 05.15 hrs.

Chennai Airport is expected to resume its commercial flight services from today as well as the DGCA has cleared passenger flights to function.
Meanwhile, rescue and relief operations are in full swing as the Army, Navy and the NDRF are working consistently to provide the stranded people with medicines and amenities while also evacuating them to safer locations.
