The Tripura state assembly witnessed unprecedented uproarious scenes on Friday, the opening day of the month-long budget session.
The bedlam started after Governor Tathagata Roy refused to read the entire text of the 32-page budget speech that also consisting of criticism of the central government and instead read only some portion of the speech, drafted by the Left Front ministry.
In protest of the governor's assertion, opposition MLAs of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) backed by Congress legislators rushed to the well of the assembly and shouted slogans like "go back governor", "shame, shame governor".
The governor read out around five pages of the speech before leaving the house in half-an-hour.
