National security adviser of U.S. President Donald Trump, H.R. McMaster has said that using the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism" is not helpful for America as terrorist organizations like ISIS represent a perversion of Islam.
CNN quoted an official present at the session of the National Security Council meeting on Thursday saying that Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster said jihadist terrorists aren't true to their professed religion and that the use of the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism" doesn't help the U.S. in working with allies to defeat terrorist groups because such organizations like ISIS represent a perversion of Islam, and are thus un-Islamic.
According to a source, McMaster also hinted that Russia was an opponent of the U.S. and not their friend.
The source termed the meeting as a "very good for morale" among the career NSC staff.
Trump had once again used the term "radical Islamic terrorists," during his remarks to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington.
Trump had said that his administration was going to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the country, adding that new actions would be taken in coming days to protect the people and keeping America safe.
