Vajubhai Vala took oath as the new Karnataka Governor here on Monday.
"I will work for the people with dedication and will do my best to serve the people of Karnataka," Vala said while taking the oath.
Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court D H Waghela administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Governor.
Vala has served as the Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2014. He was the member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He had served as the Cabinet Minister holding various portfolios like Finance, Labour and Employment in Government of Gujarat from 1998 to 2012 and was elected to Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Rajkot West constituency number of times.
