Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, who stepped into Bollywood with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year', sent a special message thanking the director "from the bottom of our hearts" as the movie completed four years yesterday.

The 29-year-old actor took to his Twitter handle to share a 46-second video of him and Alia giving an informal and short thank you speech from Singapore, where they are currently shooting for their upcoming 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'.

The 'Dishoom' star is seen saying, "Guys it has been four years since the release of SOTY." when Alia cuts in to say, ". and we're really, really excited. We can't believe it has been four years. All we want to do is say." and together the duo loudly chant "Thank you!"

"We have one man to thank- Karan Johar. Thank you Karan from the bottom of our hearts. We are who we are, because of you. Thank you for bringing us to this day," they expressed in the video.

New debutants like Alia, Varun and Sidharth Malhotra rose to fame in 2012 following the release of 'Student of the Year', which garnered critical as well as commercial success and gained good box office collections.

The young Bhatt continues in the video addressing Sidharth, "Sid, we are really missing you. Please make a nice video for us and send it immediately."

"We are currently shooting for Badrinath which is from Dharma productions as well. So Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," they added together and signed off.

'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' is a romantic comedy film directed by Shashank Khaitan, and produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner.

The movie will come to cinemas in March next year.
