Venus Williams beats Wozniacki in ASB Classic final to clinch 46th career title

Former world number one women's tennis player Venus Williams used her experience to beat Caroline Wozniacki in the ASB Classic final to grab her 46th career title, one the American said would take pride of place alongside a handful of trophies at her Florida home.

Williams lost the first set to the Dane and then summoned her experience and fighting skills to make a come back in the game and beat Wozniacki 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 to avenge her loss in last year's ASB Classic final.

Speculations are rife about the seven-time Grand Slam champion's retirement these days, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Despite off court success waiting for her in interior design and fashion that have already been established and are ready-and-waiting, Williams spoke of a desire to again represent the United States at next year's Olympic Games, making her burning fire for tennis clear.

Williams said that it's interesting to still be there, but added that it's a good thing. She said that by the time one is 34 one has a lot of experience and if one can stay in shape, stay fit, can move and hit the ball and doesn't have five kids at home then why should they stop.

The American claimed that there's nothing holding her back from being there and doing well. She admitted that of course she can't play forever, but added that while she is there she is enjoying it.

Two other titles sit in Williams' bedroom. One from her doubles success at Wimbledon in 2012 alongside sister, Serena; the second from her 2005 singles triumph at London's same popular grass court venue.

Williams, who won her first trophy for 11 months on Saturday, claimed that she doesn't keep that many in her home, adding that it's just a handful.
