Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel surprised everyone by winning the action-packed and thrilling Hungarian Grand Prix for the first time on Sunday, while reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton finished sixth.
The four-time world champion, who was stated third on the grid, won the 41st race of his career, the BBC reported.
Nico Rosberg saw his chance to catch Mercedes teammate Hamilton in the title race disappear with a puncture near the end and finished eighth.
Meawhile, Red Bull took advantage of late disarray as Russian driver Daniil Kvyat finished second and Daniel Ricciardo, who clipped Rosberg, finished third.
Vettel, after securing his second win of the season, dedicated it to French driver Jules Bianchi, who died last Friday.
