Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a blistering attack on the grand alliance and urged the people of Bihar to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which will take the state on the path of development.
Prime Minister Modi, who was addressing a rally here, also highlighted Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan's contribution.
"Democracy was murdered in 1975. JP babu was put behind bars and he was insulted by those in power at that time..If you want to pay true tributes to him then remove such people from the seat of power in Bihar," he said.
"Our only agenda is development of Bihar..We have given a package of Rs. 1, 65,000 crore to the state," he added.
In an indirect attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister Modi said nobody can trust him after what he did to Jitan Ram Manjhi and asked the voters to give him a befitting reply this time.
The Prime Minister further said RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar have ruined the state during their 25-year rule.
"Punish those who have destroyed Bihar in the last 25 years. They used to abuse each other but now they are together as they are hungry for power. They are more concerned about the chair and not Bihar. Form a government which is concerned about Bihar," he added.
An estimated 33 percent electorates have exercised their right of franchise during the first five hours of voting till 12 noon in the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls.
Polling is continuing peacefully amid tight security arrangements.
