Pakistan cricket team head coach Waqar Younis has said that changes in the ODI games is a little unfair to bowlers, tipping the balance of the game too far in favour of the batsmen due to flat wickets, fielding restrictions and bigger bats.

Younis was a master of the fast Yorker, in his playing days, which made him one of the most effective death bowlers in the history of the game. And he still believes the yorker is the most effective delivery in the late overs but says that bowlers have a tough job under any circumstances.

Younis said that it is a little unfair to faster bowlers or to any bowlers, especially when the field is up, adding that one doesn't really know which way to bowl, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The former fast bowling great believes that trends in modern cricket have been shaped by the desire to appeal to fans. He said that it's an entertaining world, adding that people want to see big sixes and all that and that's why the rules and laws have been changed in the recent past.

Younis claimed that the wickets have become really flatter and the batsmen are a lot fitter and the bats are thicker. So, he added that there are a lot of things going in batters' favour, insisting that he believes it's a crowd-pull thing, but for him, he feels it should be an even contest.
