Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has reportedly lashed out at people questioning his patriotism on social websites or television shows for having been the bowling consultant of Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Akram said that at times when he reads these 'rude and uncivilized' comments it makes him very angry and wishes that those writing such things were in front of him than he would deal with them in similar fashion.
According to The Nation, Akram insisted that he had had never preferred to work elsewhere and not for Pakistan cricket, and also said that people have to understand coaching or working on television is his bread and butter
The former fast bowler questioned that if he does not do this at this stage of his life should he sell fruits.
Akram said that he was not at a stage where he would go and stand outside the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offices asking for a job, adding that where he stands he cannot go and beg for something.
Akram said that he has told different PCB Chairmen that whenever he is in Karachi he is always available to work with the fast bowlers, and even if the Pakistan team bowlers are not available at that team he is willing to work with the junior players.
The former skipper said that he was always keen to help the Pakistan team and was willing to give long term improvement plans for them, but added that when he is not asked to do something he has to obviously seek his bread and butter somewhere.
