Kapil Mishra, Delhi's Water Resource Minister, on Friday urged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to file an FIR against the ex-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, Sheila Dikshit regarding the water tank scam.
Sharma had formed a fact finding committee to look into loopholes in the Delhi Jal Board.
According to Sharma, "Delhi Jal Board has faced a loss of around 400 crore rupees while buying tankers."
He has sent a letter to Kejriwal giving the details of the report.
In January 2015 , the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) had ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in the functioning of the DJB under chairperson Sheila Dikshit and Mateen Ahmed, a former DJB member.
In 2012, around 400 water tankers were acquired by the DJB and manufactured by a private contractor after receiving complaints of irregular service. The purchase of these water tankers was aimed at ensuring seamless service across Delhi. The capacity of these tankers was supposed to range between three and nine kilolitres.
