Swiss tennis ace Stanislas Wawrinka was thrashed 7-6 (10/8), 7-5 by South Africa's Kevin Anderson in the third round of the Toronto Masters on Thursday.
The Australian Open champion said that it was an okay match surely, but added that it is tough to lose that one.
Wawrinka will now head for the Cincinnati Masters next week, his final tune-up for the US Open, which gets under way on August 25, Sport24 reported.
The third seeded Swiss said that in general Anderson served really well, adding that it was tough to return, a little bit windy.
But, Wawrinka added, that he had some chances, especially in the first set. He said that he had set point and two, three times Love-30.
Wawrinka said that it was more about choosing the right shot to play, adding that he made some mistakes that he shouldn't have.
