Former Pakistani captain Wasim Akram has slammed the country's cricket board over its disciplinary measures to players, saying that national cricketers are not

'schoolboys'.

Akram, who was joined by former teammate Shoiab Akhtar at the launch of the Wasim Akram Foundation in Karachi, said that discipline was one thing but too much stress on it could also lead to some players losing confidence, the Dawn reported.

The 'Sultan of Swing' opined that it is very important for young players to interact with other international players and be given the freedom to explore while on tours.

Discipline has always been a matter of contention with Pakistani cricketers. Recently, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal were axed by the PCB for "non-cricketing reasons".
