West Indies fined for slow over-rate against India

West Indies has been fined for a Minimum Over Rate breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second ODI against India in Delhi on Sunday.

Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fine after the side led by Dwayne Bravo was ruled to be two overs short of its target when the time allowances were taken into consideration.

In accordance with the regulations of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel governing minor over-rate offences, the players are fined 10 percent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.

Bravo was fined 40 percent of his match fee, while his teammates were fined 20 percent.

If Bravo is found guilty of one more minor over-rate offence in ODIs over the next 12 months, he will receive a one-match suspension as per the provisions of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

The offence is contrary to Article 2.5.1 of the Code, which relates to minor over-rate offences.
