We all are aware of the big mess up of the 89th Academy Awards night- 'La La Land' was announced the 'Best Film' by mistake, instead of 'Moonlight.'
Now, Emma Stone, who bagged the golden statuette in the 'Best Actress' category for 'La La Land,' shared some key information about the shocking 'Best Movie' mistake.
Negating the presenter Warren Beatty's claim that he was given the wrong envelope (Best Actress envelope) and was confused, the actress said that she was holding her 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' card the whole time, reports People magazine.
"I also was holding my Best Actress in a Leading Role card the whole time. I'm not sure what happened" Stone told reporters in the press room.
Adding, "I think everyone's in a state of confusion still. Excitement but confusion. I think everyone is just so excited for Moonlight. It's such an incredible film."
Last year's 'Best Actor' winner, Leonardo DiCaprio, who presented Stone her trophy too confirmed that he gave her the card that declared her the winner.
"He gave the card directly to Emma and said 'You are going to want to keep this,' " according to DiCaprio's representative.
Further during an interview with ABC, the 28-year-old actress even spoke about her feeling during the moment when 'La La Land' was erroneously deemed the winner of Best Picture, instead of 'Moonlight.'
"One of the stage managers came on stage and was asking some questions. I'm so beyond excited for Moonlight, I think it's one of the greatest films of all time. So as far as I'm concerned, coolest outcome ever! But the process of getting there was a trip," she said.
What exactly happened is still not clear and as according to Emma Stone, "The investigation continues.
