WhatsApp is borrowing a feature from Telegram which will allow you to do a one-way broadcast to your contacts.
The new one-way broadcast feature will make it easier for the one-to-many relay of information. It works in the same way as Telegram's channels and allows only the admin of a group to send messages, TechCrunch reported.
However, it will still require people to provide a phone number to join the one-way broadcast groups on WhatsApp.
