'Whiz kid' Januzaj lands biggest signing-on fee for teenager in Man U history

Manchester United 'wonderkid' Adnan Januzaj has reportedly landed the biggest signing-on fee for a teenager, five million dollars, in the history of the club.

The 18-year-old Belgian youngster will be paid a basic salary of 60,000 pounds-a week, and his signing-on fee will be paid in weekly installments of 20,000 pounds spread over the five years of his new deal.

According to the Mirror, the contract surpassed past deals for stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney and, more recently, agreements for young England stars like Danny Welbeck, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Tom Cleverley.

The report mentioned that Januzaj was one of the few United players to show a scintillating performance in the side's disappointing 1-1 home draw with Southampton, adding that tying him down and beating off interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City is a major coup for chief executive Ed Woodward

Hailing Januzaj, Moyes said that Januzaj's outstanding talent has constantly managed to impress him since his arrival, adding that the teenager's balance, poise and ability to beat players is exceptional for a boy of his age.
