Feel like running to the toilet after having your cup of coffee? You are not alone and now it is revealed why.
In a video gone viral, The American Chemical Society has explained the laxative effect the aromatic brew has on approximately three in 10 people by causing the stomach to secrete extra gastric acid, the Daily Star reported.
A rise in this type of acid can cause the stomach to dump out contents into the intestines within just four minutes, making you need a poo.
While it was caffeine that was thought to be the laxative ingredient, but since Diet Coke didn't produce the same result, it is something found in coffee alone.
