Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday commenced his padyatra from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, and assured that his party would not let anyone take the land of the farmers without their consent.

"We will not let anyone take your land without your consent. Congress party belongs to the poor and the farmers, we are standing with you. Wherever the BJP comes to take away the rights of the poor, the Congress will stand like a wall to prevent it," Gandhi said while addressing the people of Hanumangarh.

The Congress vice-president attacked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government over the issue of corruption.

"Around a year ago, BJP formed its Government, and you must remember, Modi ji said, 'Na khaunga na khaane dunga' When Modi ji came to power he said "na mai khaaunga, na khaane dunga", now in Rajasthan that statement is being violated. Various types of corrupt activities are taking place in Rajasthan. I have come here just to tell you one thing, Congress will fight for you people not only in Rajasthan but the entire nation," he added.

The Congress vice president started his two-day visit to Rajasthan today.

Gandhi would also be addressing a conference of party functionaries at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier visited Punjab, Maharashtra and Telangana where he interacted with farmers and undertook padayatras.
