Slovenia men's ice hockey player Ziga Jeglic has been suspended for the remainder of the ongoing Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in Gold Coast after failing a drug test, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CSA) has said.
The 29-year-old was tested positive for banned substance 'fenoterol', which is a drug designed to open the airways to the lungs.
As a result, Jeglic has been suspended from the prestigious games and is asked to leave the Olympic village within 24 hours.
The news comes just few hours ahead of Slovenia's crucial clash against Norway in men's ice hockey, the Stuff.co.nz reported.
It should be noted that Jeglic played all three preliminary-round games to help Slovenia finish second in Group B of the men's ice hockey.
Jeglic is the second athlete to be banned from Pyeongchang 2018 and this is the third anti-doping case of the Games.
Earlier, Japanese short-track speedskater Kei Saito failed a pre-competition test in Pyeongchang while Russian curler Alexander Krushelnitsky has also been charged with doping offence after testing positive for a banned substance.
The Russian is now likely to be stripped of his Olympic medal which he won with his wife Anastasia Bryzgalova in mixed doubles event last week.
